Revolut Fees Netherlands 2026: Exchange, Weekend, ATM and Card Costs
TL;DR
Revolut Standard has no subscription, but it is not fee-free in every situation. The current Dutch fee sheet gives €1,000 monthly money-currency exchange before a 1% fair-usage fee, adds 1% for weekend exchange, and allows €200 or five Revolut-fee-free ATM withdrawals per rolling month before 2% with a €1 minimum. Card delivery and some transfers also cost money.

Know when Revolut Standard is free, when a fee starts, and which amount the app must confirm before you transact.
Short answer: Revolut Standard has no monthly subscription, but it is not universally fee-free. The current Netherlands fee sheet gives Standard users €1,000 of monthly money-currency exchange before a 1% fair-usage fee, adds a 1% fee to weekend exchange, and permits up to €200 or five Revolut-fee-free ATM withdrawals per rolling month before a 2% fee with a €1 minimum. Card delivery and some international transfers also cost money.
This page was checked against Revolut's Netherlands Standard fee sheet effective from 9 July 2026 and the live plan comparison on 27 August 2026. The app's pre-transaction quote is the final decision screen.

This table covers the fees most people encounter. It does not cover every investment, crypto, commodity, Pro, insurance, savings, or specialist-product charge.
The exchange fee has two separate triggers
The easiest mistake is to merge the fair-usage fee and the weekend fee into one rule. They are separate.
Trigger 1: monthly plan allowance
For money-currency exchange, the current limits are:
- Standard: €1,000/month, then 1% on the additional amount;
- Plus: €3,000/month, then 0.5% on the additional amount;
- Premium, Metal, and Ultra: no plan-level exchange allowance and no fair-usage fee.
Revolut says cryptocurrency and commodity exchange can also count toward the plan allowance when those services apply. Do not assume the entire €1,000 remains available for fiat currency if you use other exchange products.
Trigger 2: weekend timing
The Standard fee sheet defines the weekend window as 5pm New York time on Friday to 6pm New York time on Sunday and currently adds a 1% fee to money-currency exchange during that period. On weekdays—6pm Sunday to 5pm Friday New York time—no exchange fee applies when the exchange is within the plan allowance.
The pricing page currently lists Plus at a 0.5% weekend fee and Premium, Metal, and Ultra with no additional weekend exchange fee.
Time zones and daylight-saving shifts make memorising the local Dutch hour fragile. The safer habit is to check the app's total cost before confirming.
Does Revolut use the interbank rate?
Use precise language: Revolut says it uses the Revolut exchange rate, a variable rate set from independent data feeds and transaction parameters. The official fee sheet does not call it a guaranteed raw interbank rate.
Your real cost is:
the displayed exchange rate + any exchange fee + any fair-usage fee
Where possible, Revolut displays the total before you exchange. A card purchase that triggers an automatic conversion in real time may only show the detailed breakdown after the transaction.
That is why “zero commission” and “best rate” are not sufficient comparisons. Compare the amount the recipient or merchant gets for the same input amount at the same moment.
Revolut ATM fees in the Netherlands and abroad
On Standard, Revolut currently charges no withdrawal fee for up to five ATM withdrawals or €200 per rolling month, whichever comes first. After that, Revolut charges 2%, subject to a €1 minimum per withdrawal.
Three details matter:
- Six small withdrawals can trigger the fee even if their total is under €200.
- One withdrawal above €200 can move the excess use into the charged range.
- The ATM operator can add its own fee, which Revolut does not control.
Always decline an ATM's dynamic currency conversion when you understand and prefer card-provider conversion. The ATM may offer to charge you in euros with its own rate; the convenient-looking euro amount can be the expensive choice.
The current paid-plan Revolut ATM allowances are €200 for Plus, €400 for Premium, €800 for Metal, and €2,000 for Ultra. Those allowances do not remove operator surcharges.
Physical card and delivery cost
Revolut currently lists the first Standard card as free but charges delivery. The Netherlands Standard fee sheet lists:
- local standard untracked delivery: €7.99;
- local express tracked delivery: €19.99;
- international standard untracked delivery: €6.99;
- international express tracked delivery: €19.99;
- lightning delivery: €29.99.
Revolut says the app will display the applicable delivery fee and that it can vary by destination. A Standard replacement card currently costs €6 plus delivery.
This matters for referral campaigns because ordering a physical card can be a required step. “Free account” does not make the physical-card fulfilment step free.
Transfer fees
The current Standard fee sheet lists these as free:
- instant transfers to other Revolut users;
- local payments in your base currency to an account in your country;
- euro payments within SEPA.
Other international payments can carry a fee calculated in real time. Intermediary banks can also deduct charges. Revolut offers a “Pay All Fees” option on supported routes for a disclosed upfront amount, but route availability and pricing vary.
If the purpose is a large international transfer, compare the final recipient amount and delivery time against Wise's live Netherlands quote rather than comparing slogans.
A simple travel-fee protocol
Before a trip:
- Exchange planned spending on a weekday if the total quote is acceptable.
- Check remaining plan allowance in the app.
- Use card payments where accepted instead of repeatedly withdrawing cash.
- Find an ATM that does not add an operator fee.
- Reject dynamic currency conversion when you want Revolut to perform the conversion.
- Keep a second card from another provider for resilience.
Revolut says its travel card can be used to spend in more than 150 currencies, but availability, card network acceptance, exchange support, and local rules differ. A travel card is a tool, not a guarantee that every merchant or ATM will work.
When a paid plan lowers fees
Do not upgrade based on one fee in isolation. Calculate the annual subscription against your recurring behaviour.
Example: if you exchange €2,000 on weekdays every month, Standard's additional €1,000 would currently carry a 1% fair-usage fee—about €10 that month. Plus costs €3.99 a month and has a €3,000 allowance, so Plus may be cheaper for that narrow pattern. But if the exchange happens only twice a year, an annual paid plan may still cost more.
