Studio 2 closes the gap between prompt and performance
Suno’s MIDI, automation, Studio Chat, and custom effects move generative music from one-shot output toward an editable instrument.
What changed
Studio 2.0 adds structured musical control around generation, so an artist can move between intention, arrangement, performance data, and mix decisions.
What the source supports
- MIDI editing exposes note-level material instead of leaving every decision inside an audio render.
- Automation and custom effects add time-based control over the production rather than only prompt-based revision.
- Studio Chat adds an assistant inside the working surface, where context can be grounded in the current project.
Architecture consequence
The durable product shift is from generation endpoint to stateful workspace. The system must preserve project state, reversible decisions, asset lineage, and a clear boundary between assistant suggestion and artist commitment.
