How do I get the chorus to actually lift in an AI-generated track?

The chorus lift is the most common failure point in AI-generated music. The model produces a technically correct track where the chorus isn't noticeably bigger than the verse. Here's how to fix it.

Why the lift fails

The model averages energy across the whole track unless you explicitly signal contrast. A prompt like "energetic pop song" sets one global energy level — the model has no information about where to pull back and where to surge.

The contrast principle

Every effective chorus lift works by contrast with what preceded it. The pre-chorus creates tension; the chorus resolves it with a release of energy. You need to encode both sides.

In the style tags:

[pre-chorus: stripped back, building tension, half-time feel]
[chorus: full band, doubled vocals, compressed and punchy, resolves up to IV]
